I graduated from Sewanee in May, 2014, but the Klein Family Scholarship and The University of the South continues to benefit me. My education at Sewanee included more than classes and lectures; it opened the door to a world of academic opportunity.

My majors, International & Global Studies and French & French Studies, have helped me better understand the increasingly complex political, economic, and cultural flows that characterize the world. In order to complement the classroom experience, I participated in the School for International Training's International Honors Program. This program was a semester-long endeavor which took me to India, Senegal, and Argentina. The purpose of the program was to analyze the cultural, environmental, and political forces that shape cities. I also had a chance to intern at the International Rescue Committee, where I conducted research on global humanitarian legislation and funding trends. A year later, I spent a summer interning at PCI Media Impact, where I studied strategic communications and entertainment education. Besides the internship experience I had outside of school, I also got involved with different student organizations at Sewanee, such as the Organization for Cross-Cultural Understanding. I learned how to work closely with my peers to bring the community together and introduce alternative views of the world. In order to complement my experience at Sewanee, I completed a summer-long business program at The Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Currently I am working at The Advertising Research Foundation, which is a nonprofit industry association for creating, aggregating, synthesizing and sharing knowledge in the fields of advertising and media. The Klein Family Scholarship and the people whom I crossed paths with during my college years have helped me understand how various environments and people interact with each other. I look forward to further benefiting from my Sewanee education.
