Balazs Borosi

I was born in Budapest, Hungary, and I grew up in Budaors, a smaller town near Budapest, with my parents and my brother. I attended elementary school there and, after 6th grade, I moved on to Fazekas Mihaly Gimnazium of Budapest, where I finished my high school studies. I have taken an interest in the humanities, especially history and literature. I have participated in various competitions in these subjects, and I have also picked up competitive debating. In 8th grade, I joined the drama group, where I found my interest and love for theater and the performing arts. Two years later I joined the Youth Program of the Katona Jozsef Theater of Budapest. There I had a chance to see how a professional theater operates, and I was able to meet with professionals from theater life. The years spent there made me sure that I would like to pursue this career.

Since coming to Sewanee, I have dived into university theater, helping out with productions, acting, stage managing, and doing other behind the scenes tasks. The wonderful University community has helped me explore my interests and do what I really love, for which I will be forever grateful.
